Training Camp Report – Day 17

Sherbrooke – Montreal Alouettes went at it one last time during the 2015 training camp on Tuesday morning on Bishop’s University’s Coulter Field. After working relentlessly on the field and in meeting rooms for close to three weeks, players are anxious to return to Montreal and rekindle with their fans. The 2015 training camp will have been a long and intense marathon.
Where it counts
The Alouettes offence had great moments on Tuesday, when the team practiced in the red zone. Quarterback Jonathan Crompton connected with S.J. Green and Fred Stamps for touchdowns on consecutive plays.
Dan LeFevour also had a good outing on Tuesday as he hooked up with rookie Cody Hoffman from 15 yards out for the major, somewhat of a copy and paste from the previous day. The nicest play of the day came when LeFevour threw a bomb, 70 yards out to fullback Jean-Christophe Beaulieu, who managed to escape his defender.
Rookie quarterback Brandon Bridge also impressed the spectators on site when he threw a 40-yard pass to Johnathan Bryant, who scored the Alouettes second touchdown Saturday against Ottawa.
Alumni visitor
Alouettes players were in for a surprise following Tuesday’s practice as former cornerback Irv Smith was in attendance and addressed the team. Smith had started his CFL career with the Baltimore Stallions before coming to Montreal. His son will suit up with the Vanier College Cheetahs next fall.
