Montréal – Following an impressive outing where he amassed 180 receiving yards on six catches, international slotback S.J. Green finished second among voting for the CFL’s top performers of the past week.
Green (6’3”, 220 lbs.) proved once again why he has always been his quarterbacks’ favourite target, as his 180 receiving yards accounted for more than half of the team’s passing yards. Five of his catches were for 20 yards or more. The former South Florida University Bull, who was able to get free from opposing defenders also established a new personal record as he had amassed 168 receiving yards in 2012. The 30-year-old currently leads the CFL with 285 receiving yards.
Top Performers of the Week in the Canadian Football League are selected by former CFL players turned analysts on TSN and RDS Duane Forde, Matt Dunigan and Pierre Vercheval. Fans can go vote for their choice via the CFL Twitter account (@CFLca). Each week, the player who obtains the most fan votes will receive bonus points.
Green and the Alouettes will be back in action on Thursday, as they host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium at 7:30 p.m. For this game, hot-dogs will be at $2.
