Montreal – Originally from Brooklyn, John Bowman has made his mark in the Alouettes starting rotation due to his bruising style of play and impressive performances. So far in 2015, the 255 pound player already has six quarterback sacks, placing him third among sack leaders in the CFL this season.
We took in Wednesday’s practice and used the opportunity to ask some “outside of football” questions to the defensive end who is a big time favourite among Alouettes fans.
Did you know that John is a huge Jay-Z fan? Perhaps it stands to reason: both men are from the same city… Brooklyn, in New York. The Alouettes player has never had the opportunity to meet Jay Z, but, he has attended several of his concerts. His favourite songs? “Brooklyn We Go Hard,” (obviously!) and “I Did It My Way.”
When not playing football, the ten-year veteran enjoys playing baseball. And he closely follows his favourite team, the New York Yankees.
The life of a professional football player entails extensive travel. Like many of his Alouettes teammates, John enjoys going to Vancouver. And according to John, here’s why: “The ambience… the food (like sushi)… the view and the women are sensational!”
From coast to coast, his favorite restaurants are Le Pied de Cochon and The Keg. We let you figure it out why he loves both of them!
Come cheer for John by getting your tickets for Sunday’s game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers!
