5 great reasons to attend your Alouettes FIRST home game!

We’ve been saying it for months… Is it June yet? It finally is and your Alouettes will be taking on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (and Johnny Manziel) at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium this Saturday, June 9. Here are five reasons why this preseason game is well worth your time!

1-Big Names on the Main Stage

Wondering what the offence will look like this year? You might just get a sneak peek sooner than later. Offence Coordinator Khari Jones said he was looking forward to seeing the starters at work on Saturday: “The second preseason game is definitely for the starters. I want to give team 1 some time on the field so the guys can get used to playing together.

Of course, it’s the last stretch of training camp so some of the younger players will still be looking to prove that they have what it takes to earn their wings. “We are going to keep evaluating a few guys as well. They are still some spots up for grabs,” added Jones.

2-Johnny Football is in Town!

So. Many. Rumours. Have been circulating about Johnny Manziel in the past few months… This time, it’s true, he will be in town in the Ti-Cats uniform on Saturday. Come see for yourself if the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner belongs in the CFL.

*Cool fact: National Defensive end Jesse Joseph knows how to deal with recipients of the prestigious NCAA award. On September 19, 2009, when he was playing for the UConn Huskies, Joseph sacked the Baylor U quarterback – no other than the Baltimore Ravens’ current QB, RG3. Will he repeat the feat with Manziel? There’s only one way to find out!

3-Tickets for Kids Only $5

Make it a Fam Jam! On Saturday, kids under 12 years old can access the stadium for only $5. Take advantage of the opportunity to share your passion with your little ones. Nothing makes us happier than to see the future of Quebec football in our stands!

As a matter of fact, not only do the Alouettes work to stimulate the growth of football across Quebec, the organization also gave itself the mission to promote safety through its Ultimate Football Tour and Family Clinics. If you and your kids want to learn more about our sport after Saturday’s game, stay tuned to register to one of our free clinics. They’re coming soon!

4-New and IMPROVED Cheerleading Squad

Everybody loooooooves the cheerleaders. Their smiles are contagious, their choreography makes you want to move and, now, we’ll also be able to say that their stunts are BREATHTAKING!

Make sure you catch the very first performance of the new mixed squad. The ladies – and gentlemen – have been training for months to offer you a variety of performances that should be nothing like what you’ve seen at McGill before.

5-The Historic Stadium Has Made its Way to 2018

A stadium that has a little je ne sais quoi… that is located at the bottom of a mountain, in the heart of the city… sounds great as long as the experience is up with the times! Once again, your Alouettes raised the quality of their offer this year by improving several aspects of the game presentation and by launching new products that will mostly please food lovers (so every Quebecer, pretty much).

Before you choose your seats, make sure you learn more about the All-You-Can-Eat section and the BBQ Québec Terrace.

Regardless of where you’ll be seated, the entire team will be so happy to be reunited with you on Saturday, June 9. See you in the stands!
