Training camp report – Day 17

The Alouettes players took part in one last practice before their game Thursday against the Ottawa REDBLACKS. It was a short walkthrough where players visualized their plays one last time. This day marked the last rehearsal of the camp at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium. There was a lot of energy from the get go at 8:30 a.m. when guys jumped on the field. There were smiles, taps on the back and mutual help between teammates. The Alouettes are no doubt happy that this camp is coming to an end. Athletes have been dedicated with daily practices since May 20, including meetings and video sessions during the day. It’s a busy schedule that takes time and energy for players, coaches and all the staff around the team. No doubt this game tomorrow will be the icing on the cake!

“Guys are excited to play a real game. They have been intense all week and they will be able to carry out what they have studied in the last days. For some it will be a really big test as we face division rivals. We have a very good rivalry with Ottawa so it should make for a good show. Our players will want to give everything they have in front of their fans,” said André Bolduc, Alouettes‘ Running Back Coach.

He said it

“You got young guys like Eugene Lewis who can learn from established vets like B.J. Cunningham and DeVier Posey. All those guys at once on the field is a matchup nightmare for many opponents. I look forward to putting the ball in their hands.”
