André Bolduc is the Alouettes’ Assistant Head Coach and Running Backs Coach. He’s been
earning a living with football since 1996.
He began his career as a player with the Ottawa Rough Riders, had a short stint with the Edmonton Eskimos, and spent the final four years of his playing career in the nest. He was never drafted during his college years, but he broke down walls everywhere he went, and it all started here in Montreal with the Concordia University Stingers.
Bolduc was recognized as such a football savant that he was given the reins of the Université de
Montreal Carabins' offence in 2002, immediately after hanging up his cleats. He was responsible for building the offensive unit of the University’s brand-new football program; a tall order to fill, to say the least.
After leading the Montmorency College Nomades to the Bol d'Or game in 2005, he developed the Université de Sherbrooke’s Vert et Or program as the team was playing its fifth season in the league. Three years later, he led his troops to the Dunsmore Cup. Since 2014, he has been part of the Alouettes' coaching staff. Let’s just say he knows a little bit about football…! Let’s take a look at what he thinks about some of the Alouettes’ newest acquisitions in offence.
Natey Adjei: “He’s a veteran who’s going to be good. His Canadian player status helps our ratio. With Félix Faubert-Lussier, we have an excellent pair of Canadian players. He has always
delivered, and his numbers are growing year after year. He caught 22 passes in 2018 and 58 in
2019. He is also an excellent player on special teams. We were very lucky to be able to sign him.
This guy will understand his role and will be able to help young players develop.”
Régis Cibasu: “Régis has gained a lot of experience in the recent years, namely with his camp
with the Bears and his time with the Argonauts. He is a big player and we want him to continue
his development. He will learn from Spencer Moore and Christophe Normand, we want him to be a sponge around them and absorb as much knowledge as he can.”
Jason Lauzon-Séguin: “With Jason and Philippe Gagnon, we are adding weight to our offensive line. Jason has acquired a lot of experience in Ottawa and has won a Grey Cup. He will want to compete. We look forward to seeing him in action. They are francophones who will be
comfortable in our locker room.”
Eli Rogers: “He comes straight from the NFL. This guy has speed and can change directions
quickly. He’s going to want to compete, and he’s going to push our vets at training camp. He
recorded 594 yards in his first year with the Steelers, we can’t wait to see what he will bring this
season.”
William Stanback: “He knows the Alouettes’ system and, quite frankly, he is ready to be a
leader. I’ve been talking to a serious and mature guy lately. He is aware of the talent within our
team and he wants to finish the work he started in 2019. Stanback is one of the best at his position and he will be on a mission.
