How many seasons with the Alouettes?

This is my first season!

Where did you grow up?

Born and raised in Montreal

Since what age have you been dancing?

3 years old.

What is your dance background?

Since I started dancing, I’ve always trained exclusively in hip-hop. Four years ago, I decided I wanted to explore other styles to test my abilities. So I started training in jazz funk, commercial, contemporary, musical theater and heels. I have 10 years’ experience in competitive dance, which has enabled me to take part in many competitions in different dance styles – not only as a dancer, but also as an instructor for dancers of different ages and levels.

Your profession / Field of study?

After graduating from college in science, I decided to explore the world of business at university. Currently, I’m a student at the John Molson School of Business. Yet I’m a business student by day and a professional dancer by night! I teach students of different ages, both competitively and recreationally, in many different dance styles. It’s really wonderful to be able to share my passion with others, creating a motivating and welcoming environment.

Your biggest dance role model and why?

My biggest dance role models are my teammates with whom I compete every year. Every time I dance with them, I fall even more in love with the art of dance. After spending a decade training alongside them, they have become my chosen family. They continue to inspire me every day and push me to excel.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I love spending time with friends and family, exploring the city of Montreal and transforming myself into a popstar in the shower. I also like to experiment with fashion, go to music concerts and escape Montreal for Florida when it’s a bit too cold!

Best advice you’ve received and from whom?

There’s a quote from Epictetus that I love that says: ≪ If you want to be stable, lean on what’s under your control.” Whether in life or in dance, there are plenty of things that aren’t under my control – but I can always control my work, my discipline and my passion. It’s with this mentality that I continue to progress every day, focusing only on what I can control and improve, and remaining serene in the face of everything I can’t change.

What motivated you to audition for the dance team?

What motivated me most to audition for this dance team was the challenge. I’m always looking for new ways to learn so I can keep progressing. Plus, I’ve always loved performing for others, because it’s a way for me to share my passion with others.

What are you most looking forward to this season?

As I begin this new chapter, I’m really looking forward to sharing my passion with others, learning more about myself and what I’m capable of, and especially looking forward to building strong, authentic relationships with my teammates.
